A Trio must be Three
It takes three to make a Trio and this season all three members of the Christiania Trio were present and performing. Last year due to illness the Trio was minus one very important artist and thus became a Duo. At the last minute, the siblings, David and Julie Coucheron, magically performed a modified concert for violin and piano...without cellist Christopher Rex. But this year, the Trio was united and well! The program of Brahms and Schubert came alive. The beauty of the music flowed throughout the audience. I watched as listeners responded to the emotion, the power, and the precision of the performance. Their genuine, engrossed smiles and expressions spoke volumes...as did this program. Gratitude radiated from the Trio and was returned in full force by the audience. We all are grateful for the concerts, the music, and the Festival itself...but most importantly for and to Chris Rex. It is his presence and his Artistic Direction that has allowed this Festival to become alive and thriving....full of life to "present the best". United and well... now there are three very beautiful words!
